1.Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is so dense that visitors can only explore it on foot. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to hundreds of mountain gorillas.
The park has over 100 mammals and over 300 species of birds.
There are various activities carried out and these include nature walks, hiking, gorilla trekking, bird watching and cultural tours.
Bwindi is known for its gorilla trekking activities.
A gorilla permit goes to around 600$ compared to the 1500$ of Rwanda.
2.Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth national park is the most popular national park in western Uganda, The park spreads over various districts
It takes around 10 -11 hours to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park from Kampala.
The park has over 95 species of wild animals and over 500 species of birds.
There are a number of activities to be carried out at Queen Elizabeth and these include Game driving, Lion tracking, Boat cruising at kaziga channel, hiking, birding, nature Walks, forest walks at Maragambo forests, mountain climbing at Rwenzori mountains and chimpanzee tracking at the Kyabura Gorge.

3.Kibale National Park
Kibale is found in the southern part of Uganda
It covered by tropical forests and its next to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The park has over 70 species of mammals, for example, the chimpanzees and over 300 bird species
Activities carried out in Kibale National Park are birding, hiking, nature walks, game driving and chimp tracking.
In Kibale, you carry out chimpanzee tracking and there is also arbitration where you allowed to stay with chimpanzees for the all-day unlike at kyabura gorge and this costs only 100$aday.
4.Murchison Falls National Park
This is the largest and biggest national park in Uganda with over 450 species of birds and over 90 wild species which include giraffes, antelopes, hippos and Nile crocodiles.
It is located in the Northwestern Part of Uganda.
Activities to be carried out at Murchison falls include birding, hiking, game driving, boat cruising, fishing, waterfalls viewing and nature walk
Murchison falls attract a number of tourists because its short distance compared to other parks,
Its around 5 hours drive to Murchison falls compared the 11-hour drives to Queen Elizabeth.
5.Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Ziwa rhino sanctuary is found in Nakasongola district at Nakitoma .
From Kampala, you can only take 2 and half hours to the Rhino sanctuary.
You can spend around 2 to 3 hours with the rhinos and for foreigners, you just pay only 45$.
This is an amazing experience because you get to come close to the rhinos through rhino trekking.
Other animals to see are monkeys, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birds.
Other activities besides rhino trekking are canoe riding, bird watching and nature walks.
6.Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary
Ngamba Island is on 100 acres and its a home for chimpanzees and the only activity carried out there is chimpanzee tracking and viewing.
If you feel like not heading to Kibale or kyabura, then Ngamba is another option for you to view and see the chimpanzees.
Lake bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Africa and it has 28 islands which define it as the most beautiful destination in Uganda by some tourists.
Lake Bunyonyi will leave you shocked when you are taken to the Island where girls who got pregnant before marriage were thrown and kept to die of hunger and drowning.
Well if you went to Bwindi and had enough time with the gorillas, then head to lake Bunyoyi and relax down.
